The Hinson Family began its rich aviation heritage 70 years ago at Rutherford Field just west of Baltimore. At the time, aircraft were made of wood and fabric, and John Hinson, the founder, on at least one occasion, traded cattle for a new J-3 Piper Cub. Over the years, Hinson has been involved in every aspect of aviation in the Baltimore area. Hinson ran one of the first Army flight-training facilities from the then Harbor Field and began the use of the first Link simulators. Today, three generations later, Hinson has seen six different airport locations and operates out of BWI today.

Three generations later, President and Owner, Mike Hinson, carries on the family tradition operating the largest fleet of managed and charter aircraft at BWI. Offering 25 years of piloting and aircraft management experience, Mike oversees the company’s six lines of Business: Aircraft Management, On-Demand Charter, Aircraft Maintenance, Pilot and Crew Services, Aircraft Sales and Fractional Ownership. Hinson’s longevity and growth is due to the company’s firm commitment to safety, efficiency, honesty and customer service to Maryland’s business aviation community.
